NVIDIA’s annual GTC is upon us and for the first time since the pandemic, GTC 2024 is returning to an in-person event, while still retaining its online presentation for those that are unable to attend the event physically. As you can expect, AI is expected to be both a major focus and topic at this year’s event but of course, there will be other subjects and sessions.
Other topics of interest that will be held during GTC 2024 include sessions that focused on NVIDIA’s Metaverse projects, AI in the medical field, plus the automotive industry, among others. Because this is an event that is streamlined and focused less on a consumer-level, we don’t expect the brand to announce any new GPU during the event. That being said, it wouldn’t be out of character for such an announcement; Jen-Hsun launched the Titan Z back in 2014 at the keynote of that year’s GTC.
On another note, the event space has shifted from the usual San Jose convention centre into a nearby hockey ring, given that GTC 2024 is expected to host more than 16,000 attendees and presenters, alone. Besides Jen-hsun Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, giving his keynote, other speakers that will be in attendance include the following list below:
- Joelle Pineau, vice president of AI research, Meta
- Brad Lightcap, chief operating officer, OpenAI
- Sébastien Bubeck, vice president, Microsoft GenAI
- Vincent Vanhoucke, scientist and senior director of robotics, Google DeepMind
- Dr. Fei-Fei Li, professor of computer science and HAI co-director, Stanford University
- Dr. Priscilla Chan, cofounder and co-CEO, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative
- Stefan Goebel, senior vice president, chief of staff, product engineering and head of strategic engineering partnerships, SAP Labs
- Belinda Neal, chief operating officer for core engineering and head of engineering partnerships, Goldman Sachs
- Moises Hernandez-Fernandez, vice president of machine learning center of excellence, JPMorgan Chase
- Shan Jegatheeswaran, vice president and global head of MedTech Digital, Johnson & Johnson
- Rodolphe Katra, vice president of AI, Medtronic
- Aaron Saunders, CTO, Boston Dynamics
NVIDIA GTC 2024 kicks off on 18 March with Jen-Hsun’s keynote. On that note, if you’re planning on attending this year’s event in person, you can register yourself via the official page that the GPU brand has. It’s also a hub where you can see what sessions it will be hosting for the duration of the event.
